Mindfulness Meditation 8 week course for Parents from September 2022

This course in mindfulness meditation is open to all parents - whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced meditator. This course is made up of eight, 2 hour sessions with one full day ‘mini-retreat’ which will enable you to fully embed the full range of meditation practices. The sessions will run weekly and in order to gain maximum impact from the course you will be expected to engage with a daily home practice.
These sessions will cover how to become more mindful in everyday life, how to recognise your stress signature and the links between our thoughts, emotions and actions. It will also address how we can be mindful in the way we relate to ourselves and others. The course follows the curriculum of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and also uses some cognitive therapy techniques (MBCT). It is a well established course with a strong research base and I would be happy to share more information about it if you feel it might be of interest.

I have been teaching mindfulness courses to both staff and students at Christleton High School since 2018 after completing my training with the ‘Mindfulness in Schools Project’. Since then, I have continued my training and I am in the process of completing my ‘Masters in Teaching Mindfulness Based Approaches’ at Bangor University. As such, I also adhere to the Good Practice Guidelines of BAMBA (British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches) to ensure the highest standards of professionalism whilst delivering this course.
