GCSE Results 2015

(Posted on 20/08/15)

On the back of a record breaking set of GCSE results last year, our students are celebrating once again after receiving strong GCSE results this year.

With 97% of all Year 11 students achieving 8 or more GCSEs and, of these, 75% achieving 5 A*-C grades (68% inc. English and Maths), our students and staff are naturally pleased with the outcome.  Gareth Barton, Head of Year 11, said "This year's grades are fantastic.  As a staff team, we couldn't be happier for all the students who have achieved these fabulous results, and we wish everyone well for the future."

Within the Year Group there were some remarkable individual results, with 7 students achieving 7 or more A*-A grades, and a further 13 students achieving 8 or more A*-A grades (4 of whom achieved 8 or more A* grades alone).

These results follow the School's determination to focus on independent and creative approaches to learning, a fact not lost on Ofsted inspectors when they rated the school as 'Outstanding' in their recent inspection.

"We are incredibly proud of our students" said Damian Stenhouse, Acting Headteacher.  "We had high expectations of this Year Group, who have clearly achieved them with this set of results.  These continue to be particularly challenging times for young people and it is inspiring to see how committed and hardworking they are.  We wish all of our students every success in their future studies and careers."
