Graphic Designing for Delamere parkrun

Graphic Designing for Delamere parkrun

Eve Hall is in Y11. She is a Fine Art student who made sure that Art was the focus of her Y10 Work Experience. During the period of work experience she served as a graphic designer making a course map for Delamere parkrun. Graphic designers make artworks that meet the needs of clients and it was important that Eve’s map would be useful to Delamere parkrun and its runners.

Once Eve knew what was required, she set about creating an attractive and clear representation of the Delamere parkrun course. The organisers wanted it to show various features and landmarks and Eve made sure that she included these. Once back in school after her work experience, Eve finished the map and made other work to go with it so that she could include it in her GCSE Fine Art portfolio and get marks for it.

On Saturday 15th October, Eve and her parents and teachers went to Delamere parkrun to present the map to the Run Directors who would organise how the map would go on to be used. It was a lovely moment with some very kind words of thanks and appreciation. All of the staff in the Art Department are very proud of Eve!

Here is what Eve said about the experience:

"After deciding to create a piece of artwork for a parkrun, I chose Delamere Forest as I am familiar with it and think it is a great parkrun course. I used a range of techniques, including collage effects, layering paint colours to express the trees, and silhouettes to represent the ducks in the mere and landmarks on the route.

When I presented the map to the Delamere run directors at the startline, it was a great experience!"
