What is the CHSA?

Over the last few years, the CHSA has supported numerous events, ranging from:

  • Christmas and Spring/Summer concerts
  • Musical productions
  • Year 7 BBQ
  • The Grand Christmas Draw
  • Open Evenings
  • Parents' Evening refreshments (for staff and parents) and, not forgetting,
  • The School Lottery which brings in additional funds

We always welcome new ideas and if you have some, please come along to one of our meetings or you can email chairofchsa@christletonhigh.co.uk. We have also made good use of match-funding in the last few years, so if you work for a bank that would be willing to match-fund one of our events, please speak to a committee member who can help to set this up. (Please speak to any friends you may know in this situation too).

So, how do we spend the money we raise?  When the iResearch Centre was built we raised substantial funds towards accessories to enhance the facility.  Since then we have funded or contributed to a wide range of projects.  DT now have a laser cutter, a 3D printer and display cabinets, Biology has a high powered microscope and Art has new cameras courtesy of the CHSA.  We have supported business development courses, first aid courses and the Young Enterprise Scheme for Sixth Formers.  We donated funds for Activities week, a Big Dig event, a Learning for Work residential trip and an overseas charity trip. We have helped PE with sports kit, stereos and mats, Geography with iPads and anemometers, the younger students with playground equipment and games and STEM club with new robot kits. Last year the money raised through The 200 Club was spent on extending the cycle park provision for the students.  It’s quite a variety and this list is not exhaustive!

CHSA members say that it is fun to get involved, to get to know staff and that by being an active member of the school community you can enhance the school experience for your children.

We hope to see you at future meetings or events soon.

If you would like more information on how to become involved, please contact a Committee member:
