Parents’ Evenings
Parents’ Evenings are an opportunity to discuss with subject teachers the progress that students are making.
Parents’ Evenings often follow the issuing of a KASH report and so teachers can take the opportunity to give further feedback on progress being made. The main focus should be:
- What Is Going Well
- Next Steps for Improvement / Even Better If…
To enable parents to see as many different teachers as possible appointment slots are normally of a five-minute duration. We do ask families that, if possible, these meetings take place with both the parent / carer and the student present.
As parents / carers, you are able to book appointments via our online booking system; this allows you to choose your own appointment times. Priority booking is given to families of PP and SEND students.
Parents’ Evenings may be either virtual online events, or face-to-face meetings. Many families when surveyed said they preferred the convenience of online appointments, with comments including:
- This is a great advancement. Although we enjoying visiting the school, meeting teachers face-to-face and bumping into friends, the online system is more focused and time isn't wasted moving from room to room and waiting in queues.
- It was much easier and smoother. It allowed parents who were still in work to also join. It also meant that no teachers were running behind, parents evening used to be very stressful especially when you couldn’t find the teacher. Online parents evening has improved all of this.
- I really liked the parents evening online, it’s a lot better than being out the house for three hours and having to get a babysitter or take everyone with me.
- This was so much better and less stressful than normal. It was more private and felt we could discuss more as people were not over us waiting for their time.
- The online parents evening was PERFECT! I would recommend it for all years. Smooth, easy to use, no pushing in and losing your slot.
- It was brilliant. Efficient, environmentally friendly, well organised.
